Alessandro Michele has a special talent for mixing the old and the new with the familiar and the strange and since Instagram has become the bible for all visual people, it is no surprise that he made the app a vital part of his newest project: Guccigram.
“#GucciGram is a starting point to tell different stories, which are all united by a great freedom,” said Michele. “Today creativity is often born and finds its voice in digital media, a vital source of visual culture.” The stories are told by a selected group of renowned and up-and-coming creatives, all using Gucci’s floral #GGBlooms and geometric #GGCaleido patterns as a starting point. The results, however, are as different as the artists, there are short movies, gifs and paintings showing the creators' signature styles. The full selection of artworks is on display on a new section of the Gucci website. Have a look at my favourites by Amalia Ulman, Mogu Takashi, Sara Berman and more below.
