Our favourites from the Met Gala 2016

I'm not usually into red carpet fashion, too hard to relate to and always somewhat the same. But I do love the met gala, which is basically high fashion fancy dress with the outfits directed by art.

The Met Ball is the most important fashion gala of the year and everyone from film, music, fashion and art can usually be seen on its red(ish) carpet. Anna Wintour, as every year the host, was supported by Taylor Swift this year and you would have thought Anna would have given her better outfit advice. This year the gala focussed on futuristic looks to welcome the new Metropolitan Museum of Art exhibition: Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology. In keeping with the theme, some of the dresses were actually designed by computers. Karolina Kurkova's dress, that lit up, was designed by Marchesa for example in collaboration with IBM Watson technology. The designers typically invite their muses to spend the night in one of their gowns and create their little 'fashion army'. Louis Vuitton's gang ditched the high heels this year for combat boots and whilst Prada was surprisingly disappointing, the Gucci and the Dolce & Gabbana girls (especially Kate Bosworth in her fairy-like dress) were my favourites. Have a look below for all of my favourite dresses of the night.
