After spending a month looking at what we might be wearing next winter, I decided to take a step back and have a look at my favourite trends for this coming warm season. Not long now.
I was actually planning on making a post about my favourite coats seen during fashion month but to be honest, I don't really want to see another coat for at least six months. The past weekend with its taster of spring made me so excited for the sun and warmth coming, that I decided to give more thought to what I would like to wear once my beloved no-coat-weather is finally here. Have a look at my favourite five trends for right now.
Thanks to Céline, Babouches are everywhere this season. I actually bought an amazing pair whilst in Fez last summer and cannot wait to wear them. As much as I love the ones from Céline and Acne, the best ones are actually to be found on Etsy. They don't cost much (but probably more than in a Moroccan bazaar) and come in a variety of colours and leathers.
The word ruffles might make you think of flamenco dancers or 80's proms, but this year's interpretation is much more modern. They can be found on tops, dresses and skirts. Rosie Assoulin and Ellery have mastered this trend but luckily more affordable options can be found.
The classic shirt re-imagined
I love shirts. They ground every crazy shoe. And they look especially nice with a turtle neck popping out from underneath. This season, many designers have re-imagined the classic shirt which makes me love them even more.
I don't think I ever liked small earrings on me. The bigger, the better.Luckily the designers are on my side this season and statement earrings remain popular.
I have already talked about my love for voluminous sleeves here, and of course they could not be missing from my Top 5. Keep an eye out for the Rosie Assoulin top combining big sleeves, ruffles and the re-imagination of the classic shirt. Would go great with a pair of big earrings and babouches too. All five favourites in one outfit, that's the dream.
