Things are definitely changing in my little universe, when before I would have only wanted to spend money on clothes, shoes or travelling, I now don't mind the thought of spending less on that and more on nice things for the home.
I have always underestimated the happiness that can come from a nice rug, a pretty carafe or beautiful plates. I partly blame that on me trying not to grow up and invest my money sensibly, partly on the fact that I had not heard of Suite One Studio until a few months ago (you may have seen one of their wonderful dessert plates in this post). No one could look at that collection and not start thinking about hosting brunches and dinner parties.
The brains and hands behind those mealtime beautifiers belong to Lindsay Emery who produces all ceramics in her studio in North Carolina and restocks her online shop every Tuesday (at 7pm EST). Once restocked, the items sell out in what feels like moments, so be quick. Her amazing Instagram has become one of my favourite accounts, though be aware, it will make you deeply unhappy with all plates you currently own. I'm still hoping there will be a dinner plate version of the pink and gold dessert plate. I'll be like Monica in Friends when she doesn't want people to ruin her pretty plates and makes them cut their food in the air. How aspirations change...
